Fine & Raw

For these chewy hazelnut brownies, we’ve partnered with our friends over at Fine & Raw! Let’s just be honest. We’ve used other chocolate spreads before…but this is a whole other level of good! We honestly wouldn’t have been able to make this recipe without this amazing spread. It’s perfect for drizzling over ice cream, oats, yogurt, smoothies, tossing them into your favorite recipe, or….eating it by itself! Their spreads include flavors like oat milk chocolate, sweet hazelnut, and even sugarless hazelnut butters! Their product line extends to truffles and specialty chocolate bars. We’re obsessed with this brand and their chocolate hazelnut spreads! We can’t wait to show you what else we make with their spreads.

Recipe Tips

The most important part of this recipe is the butter. In most brownie recipes, the butter is heated on the stove and mixed in with the sugar. With this recipe, you can pop these in the microwave (using a microwavable dish)! We microwaved this 3 times for 25-30 seconds each round. Every time you pop this out of the microwave, whisk the butter and sugars together. You’ll notice the butter becoming more and more glossy! This is perfect! Let this cool for about 5-6 minutes before whisking in the eggs and other ingredients.

To finish off these brownies before you pop them in the oven, spread the chocolate hazelnut butter on top of the batter. Swirl this around with a knife, and get a good mix for the best chewy hazelnut brownies. You’ll want to bake these for 25-27 minutes. If you insert a toothpick and a bit of chocolate batter comes out, that’s PERFECT. It will give you that gooey goodness that we all love in brownie recipes!

Key Ingredients:

  • Butter: We need a warm, glossy butter for this recipe. No need to get this butter to room temp, because we’re popping this in the microwave! If you’re trying to go dairy free, swap out the butter for coconut oil & follow the same directions.
  • Cocoa Powder: This is the heart of the chocolate flavor. Brownies made with a rich cocoa powder have the best chocolate taste. No you can’t leave out the cocoa powder, so no subs on this one! But we promise you won’t regret using cocoa powder.
  • Espresso Powder: Chocolate-based desserts paired with espresso powder have a deeper flavor! Really, this is a hidden gem in all your chocolate desserts. No–it won’t taste like bitter coffee. Espresso powder brings out a rich flavor in your recipes. Just trust us on this one. Mix this together with the wet ingredients for a burst of flavor!
  • Chocolate Hazelnut Butter Spread: Basically the best thing you could ever eat with a spoon! This spread is cacao and hazelnuts mixed together to make the best spread. If you need a nut-free alternative, try Fine & Raw’s Oat-Milk Based Spread! Order this spread here.
  • Hazelnuts: The icing on top of the cake! Why wouldn’t you pair hazelnuts with a hazelnut spread?! We mixed these nuts into the batter, but of course you can top off the batter with hazelnuts for a crunch on top. You can add almonds, peanuts, walnuts, or pecans! Either way, adding nuts into this recipe is the perfect pair for these brownies.
  • Chocolate Chips: We used semi-sweet chocolate chips (55% cacao) to top off these brownies! If you’re wanting bigger chunks, use a chopped up chocolate bar. It’ll give you different shapes of that gooey chocolate chunk we all love.
