Recipe Tips

White Rice: Cold, day-old rice is the absolute best for fried rice dishes. Because the rice is cold, it’s drier and firmer, which prevent the dish from becoming mushy while frying. Freshly cooked rice works as well, but let the rice settle to room-temperature (or colder) for the best results.

Teriyaki Sauce: Originating from Japan, it’s a sweet & savory glaze made from soy sauce, mirin, and sugar. For this recipe, we used a pre-made teriyaki sauce from Trader Joes (Soyaki). Target’s Good and Gather, and Kinder’s are great alternatives.

Tilapia: Like most dishes, you can use any fish for this recipe. Cod, Salmon, and Sea Bass are great alternatives.
