It seems like you’re grabbing tissues more and more lately with our What to Watch lists. This week’s no different! Some love stories make you want to fall in love and some are simply meant to break your heart. This week is the latter. This watchlist are films that explore the bittersweet intersection of passion, loss, and fate, where romance is often followed by tragedy. From star-crossed lovers in West Side Story and Five Feet Apart to lifelong bonds torn apart by egregious lies in Atonement, to historical romances in Titanic, each story shows how love transforms, endures, and tears you a part.

Whether it’s through young love, forbidden passion, or life-long devotion, these films capture all the joys, pains, and complexities of the human heart.

Though they can break your heart, romantic tragedy truly reminds us that in heartbreak, there is beauty, and in loss, there is so much meaning. It’s definitely worth the watch.
